Product Introduction:
Nabpac 100mg is a nanoparticle albumin-bound (nab) formulation of Paclitaxel, designed to deliver higher concentrations of the drug to tumor sites with fewer side effects. It eliminates the need for pre-medication with steroids or antihistamines and is administered via intravenous infusion in a hospital setting under medical supervision.

Uses:
Nabpac 100mg is indicated for the treatment of:
  1. Metastatic breast cancer
  2. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) (with carboplatin)
  3. Metastatic pancreatic cancer (with gemcitabine)
  4. Ovarian cancer (off-label use)
  5. Gastric cancer (off-label use)
  6. Patients with hypersensitivity to conventional Paclitaxel formulations

Storage Instructions:
  1. Store below 25°C (77°F)
  2. Protect from light
  3. Do not freeze
  4. Once reconstituted, use within recommended time frame as per package insert
  5. Keep out of reach of children

How It Works (Mechanism of Action):
Paclitaxel stabilizes microtubules by promoting tubulin polymerization and preventing their disassembly, leading to mitotic arrest and cell death. The albumin-bound formulation allows better delivery to tumor tissues via gp60 receptor-mediated transport and SPARC protein interaction, resulting in improved efficacy and reduced toxicity.

Side Effects:
Common side effects:
  1. Hair loss (alopecia)
  2. Peripheral neuropathy (tingling, numbness)
  3. Fatigue
  4. Nausea and vomiting
  5. Anemia and low blood cell counts
  6. Diarrhea or constipation
Severe side effects:
  1. Severe neutropenia or leukopenia
  2. Liver dysfunction (elevated enzymes)
  3. Hypersensitivity (though less common than conventional Paclitaxel)
  4. Infections due to immunosuppression
  5. Cardiac rhythm disturbances (rare)

Dosage (Typical Recommended Dose):
  1. Metastatic breast cancer: 260 mg/m² IV over 30 minutes every 3 weeks
  2. NSCLC: 100 mg/m² IV on days 1, 8, and 15 of a 21-day cycle (with carboplatin)
  3. Pancreatic cancer: 125 mg/m² IV on days 1, 8, and 15 of each 28-day cycle (with gemcitabine)
  4. Dose depends on body surface area (BSA) and patient-specific factors

Method of Administration:
  1. Administered via intravenous infusion
  2. No need for steroid or antihistamine premedication
  3. Diluted as per manufacturer's instructions before use
  4. Administered in a hospital/clinical setting under professional supervision

Precautions:
  1. Monitor CBC (complete blood count), liver and kidney functions
  2. Avoid use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
  3. Use effective contraception during and after therapy
  4. Avoid contact with people who are sick or have infections
  5. Report signs of peripheral neuropathy, infection, or unusual bruising

Drug Interactions:
  1. Metabolized via CYP2C8 and CYP3A4 enzymes
  2. Interactions with strong inhibitors or inducers of these enzymes may alter effectiveness
  3. Increased toxicity with cisplatin, gemcitabine, carboplatin
  4. Avoid live or attenuated vaccines during treatment

Allergies:
  1. Nab formulation does not contain Cremophor EL, significantly reducing allergy risks
  2. Still use with caution in patients with albumin hypersensitivity
  3. Allergic symptoms: rash, shortness of breath, facial swelling, dizziness

Overdose Information:
  1. Symptoms may include severe neutropenia, mucositis, neuropathy
  2. No specific antidote available
  3. Treatment is supportive, including fluids, growth factors, and monitoring in a medical facility

Missed Dose Instructions:
  1. Contact your doctor immediately
  2. Doses are scheduled around blood count recovery and overall health
  3. Do not self-administer or adjust the schedule without guidance

Additional Notes:
  1. Hair loss is a temporary but expected side effect
  2. Neuropathy should be reported early as it can worsen with continued treatment
  3. Stay well-hydrated and eat a balanced diet to support recovery
  4. Regular follow-up and blood tests are essential to monitor your response and safety
